WEEK 11 PROCESS

Summary:

We meet this week and talked about some team communication problems, and we are able to talk through the problems and find solutions to it. With the TA’s help we are able to make our process of completing the game easier. We have also talked about level 2, level 3, and decides to add more narrative into the game to make it more narrative driven. Our tasks are distributed well so we are not wasting time and working efficient. Level design for level 2 and 3 are complete, and level 2 assets are also complete at this point, where the visual artists are working on level 3 assets and animation. We have decided to make our level 3 into a boss fight.

Contributions:

My personal contribution for this week is fixing bugs and adding level 2 stuff into the game. For level 1, I have updated it with new assets for more interaction of close up of the grave and the broken danger labels. The laser of the enemies are modified, to rotate and slide in the right way. The journal is updated when letters are picked up, and the player is notified with an icon. The animation glitch from jumping and landing on ladder is fixed. The fog is kind of animated in the scene. A circle shows up when player get close to something that is interact-able to indicate player can interact with the object. Of course, there are many more bugs still need to be fixed, and level 2 and level 3 still need to be implemented.

Reflections:

After talking to the team about problems, I feel our group is working better. It’s great to know why things are not working well, then solve it, and become more understanding towards each other.

PS: I am running late for coding level 2 for the peer critique, and I might not finish before tomorrow to get a good peer review…early apologies! >_<
