Week 8 Team Assessment

Over the week the team further discussed a number of elements including the final layout for the first level that will be showcased in our Alpha Code milestone, as well as the necessary mechanics, assets and additional features we want to include. Once the team came to conclusion on the look and feel of level 1, our visual artists began creating assets for the environment as well as the main player controlled character. This includes trees, rocks, the ground and other pieces of the environment and various animations such as the idle animation, walking, climbing and more. Alongside the visual artists assets, the coding team began implementing the different mechanics and logic into the live development environment. This includes transferring of code snippets such as tossing, camera triggers and pushing/pulling objects from the test environment into the live one.

The team worked individually throughout most of the week completing their assigned tasks and maintaining communication online, however on February 22nd, Wednesday, three members of the team met to troubleshoot various coding related error as well as have the environmental artist provide context for placement of specific assets.

Over the next week the team will begin consolidating the assets into the live development environment as well as placing the animations into the correct logical operations. Following completion of the Alpha Code prototype, the team will use the weekend and the following days prior to presentation to complete the presentation, play test sessions, and any accompanying documentation.
